Well, the numbers aren't great so far, but I don't know what level of
optimization or debugging is in use.

7,920,792 bytecodes/sec; 267,897 sends/sec

The Gumstix has a 400 MHz XScale.

My 300 MHz XScale PDA gets:

12,403,100 bytecodes/sec; 411,712 sends/sec
