Yes, I wonder if this is a feature or a bug (the later is my guess :) ). It 
happenes in both versions I have here (3.7 and 3.9 alpha, and 3.6 in Croquet 
in a slightly different flavour) and it was pretty frustrating when it first 
happened ... Glad you figured it out.
