Hi all,
I've just released new versions of Monticello (198) and PackageInfo
(18) to SqueakMap. You should upgrade them both, but order doesn't
matter.
This release has a number of new features and bug fixes, including:
- Various optimizations from Daniel Vainsencher
- Use meaningful changeset names when loading MC files (Ned Konz)
- Compatibility fixes for 3.7/3.8 (Ned Konz)
- "save repositories" and "load repositories" menu items in the
repository list; these let you store the repository configuration to an
external file which can later be loaded into another image (Daniel
Vainsencher)
- An email notification system. If you put a file named "notify" into
a file-based (HTTP, FTP, Directory) repository, with one email address
on each line, those email addresses will receive a commit message
whenever a new version is saved to that repos.
- A "store diffs" menu item in the repository list. If you flag a
repository to store diffs, than any versions you save to that repos
will automatically be stored as a .mcd against the latest ancestor
available in the same repository. This is good when you're uploading
from low-bandwidth connections, although it means that loading a
version from that repository requires downloading a whole bunch of
diffs to reconstruct the final version.
- Fixed a bug with overridden methods; saving a package that has had
its methods overridden by another package no longer results in the
permanent removal of those methods.
- Added the "Backport" feature. More on that in another message.
Please let me know of any problems you find with this release.
Avi
