sound player thread eats CPU

3.6g-2 (own build) using -vm-sound-oss

I tried without the arts wrapper. This time cpu usage is about 17% 
when playing a sound and it stays there after I stopped the sound 
output. When I stop the sound player thread cpu usage goes down to 
about 8%.
I will try to investigate this further.
