Hi,

had a little bit time and was annoyed by using web browsers for following
IRC discussions on the squeak channel. So here is the result:

If you want to get infos on the discussions in the squeak irc channel (or
any other logged channel around) from within the image you can use
the "IRC Log Viewer". It's available on SqueakSource and SqueakMap
(therefore ready to install from within the image). A
screenshot can be found on the swiki page (see below).

Features
- automatically downloads a list of log files for a server and channel
- you can open a channel and view its users
- the channel view can be filtered to supress IRC commands or user messages
- lots of SUnit tests and documented methods

How to install:
- open up your squeak map package loader from the world menu
- search for IRCLogViewer
- install the package
- select 'open...' and 'IRC Log' in the world menu
- this should open a window and after some downloading time a list of
available logs for the squeak channel

How to use it:
- select a log file and click on 'open'
- alternatively you can select a different log file server and channel (try
"debian" for instance)

Tips
- if you view a log files contents you can apply a filter using the context
menu to supress command messages (so you can only see the discussion)
- if you dont like write your own or send me enhancements - its far from
perfect, but it works ;)
