  I'm not sure what you meant by "verbose mode", but if it is what I
think, change the "theme" to outOfTheBox or something.

  Click on the world, press ESC key or Alt-Shift-w to get the world
menu.  From there 'help...' -> 'preferences...' -> 'change theme...'
and choose 'outOfTheBox'.
