No it was not that. As I wrote I know how to install French
translation with the version of LanguageEditor shipped in Squeak
image 3.7 but I cannot find my way in image 3.8, in particular a
French locale need to be declared somewhere I don't know where
in 3.8.

Second thing is that as far as I understood image 3.8 use utf8
and therefore French.translation file (which I am not sure about
the internal format) need some characters conversion from latin1
to utf8. Is using 'iconv' just fine?

However, I am betting it should take you 10 min. to install the
translation file and publishing a new image on the net, so I can
grab it and test it. Because if I install it localy in my copy
of image 3.8, what should I do with it next?
(we already have a 3.7 image with French file installed at
http://squeak.ofset.org)
