I wholeheartedly support the yourinitiative and wish you all the best.

I suggest your primary responsibility could be to create and post new 
stable releases of Squeak. A release should be pared down to a minimal, 
orderly and extensible kernel. I also suggest that the goal should be to 
support anarchy through strong package support.

Last, but not least, avoid new, cool kernel features like the plague.
