The UI in Morph tends to get slower with the version. Try just for the 
fun to have a look
at open... mvc project. to get an impression of this fact.
John Mcintosh told me that there a bit of mess at the level of the 
event generated by
the VM since they were wrap for Morphic and wrapped again.

-  Try to change the display depth
- change the preferences (appearance...preferences...) and remove 
round-corners
- remove the Squeak head...
and normally it gets really acceptable. You can also try an old 
distribution so that we can
evaluate the difference.
