Just to close this issue: I did contact Nia Lewis of the MIT Media Lab
group doing the $100 Laptop project (in my own name instead of on behalf
of the Squeak community) and she replied that they would not be
interested in having me collaborate with them.

The good news is that she said Alan Kay is working with them, so they
are well aware of Squeak (and I would hope this means they are
considering using it in some way).
