Many thanks for the bug report. I have somehow missed the discussion in 
January, but had no problem reporoducing the bug today.

I have found two problems with 3.8; the one you reported and one that could 
cause lots of subtle trouble in many packages:
!!!   #foo was equal to 'foo' asText in 3.7. This is not the case in 3.8 !!!

I believe I have fixed these problems in BabySRE, the new release is
     BabySRE-TRee.39. I suppose this clears the bug report?

PS
The first bug was my override of a library method. It is clearly risky that 
a package can change or override any method in the system. I wish we could 
invent a safer way of realizing something similar.

PPS.
Squeak 3.8 doesen't seem to be official in spite of all announcements: 
http://www.squeak.org/download/index.html still sends me to 3.7.
