Those interested in benchmarks might want to read chapter 9 of the
"green book" ("Smalltalk-80: Bits of History, Words of Advice", which
can be found near the bottom of
http://www.iam.unibe.ch/~ducasse/FreeBooks.html) and then get the
package "Benchmarks" from the SqueakMap where most of the hard work has
already been done for you. You still have to think about such issues as
lookup cache miss patters, as Andreas mentioned.
