updates vs. images -- limiting squeak to code

Isn't the real point that it should be relatively easy to transfer
this stuff from image to image? I'm used to doing that with files as
well. I have files going back to the late 80's, transferred across
many DOS+QEMM386, Win 3.1, Linux, WinXP installations...
