As John and Bert mentioned the pool of ID numbers is shared among all
projects in the database, of which there a many more than just the two
used by the Squeak community.

That I don't know. By the way this is a good time to remind everyone
that the Mantis does include some documentation. Including the rather
simple document I wrote up specifically related to reporting Squeak
issues there is a link to the Mantis documentation itself. A quick
glance at this did not provide any information to me on 'stickiness' but
the documentation is updated regularly so a look back at it in the
future may shed some light on this. All of the documentation can be
found by clicking the 'Doc's menu item at the top of any Mantis page.

My experience has been that whenever you make a setting it 'sticks' and
when you go back to the search page the settings you made are still
there. This is probably supported by cookies (and may require that you
be logged in, I'm not sure). Also I believe it does allow you to have
different settings per project.

For example I don't think I've been to the Mantis server since Thursday
or Friday but on the Squeak project search page it already has a
Category setting of 'Network' for me which is what I last used.

I think you are confusing Projects and Categories here. There are still
2 Squeak projects: Squeak and Squeak Packages. And the discussion in
the document related to these is still accurate. There are many many
more categories within each project and the list grows regularly. Based
on the discussion in the document above I hope the meanings of each
category is relatively self explanatory. If that's not the case please
let me know.

The Mantis documentation only allows you to upload files. I cannot put
arbitrary links on that page. If you want something changed in the
document just tell me.
