A newbies list, mentors

Hi All,

I have been reading the list for over two years now. I have not yet written any code. I have been busy creating content by guiding my two code writing friends in the creation of an industrial robot for grade schoolers to teach (they teach the robot what we teach them) and use to build custom homes and gardens and sell them. The students sell the mansions they have taught the robots to build.

You see 4 and 5 year olds can build if they can trial and error at it. With the robots we have created a simulator where the students trial and error until they get it right and then they send the digital instructions to the robots to preform the work.

No, we have not completed a mansion yet. We are on Monday the 24th of April setting up at the Oak Hills Elementary in Bountiful Utah, USA with the robots to do our first pilot project.

I have been looking for the best way to quickly teach the students how to program. We have purchased St?phane Ducasse's book Bot Inc. and have had the students creating training videos of this media. The creation of the videos really excites the students to get in and practice. All on their own they have created 6 videos. They still need lots of practice but it is good enough for us to pay them to do the work.

So, with Alan and others saying why is there not someone creating something to change the world, I thought you might like to know what we are doing. I have looked at etoys and many other materials but as has been stated no one is getting at the heart of world progress the way it could be done with all the powerful tools.

The way we see to bring the children up to their full potential is as we are doing. Which is showing them how to use the tools and make money form 4 years old on up. This may not set well with many of you but if you are truly honest and think about it this is the only way. After they, the children are confident, then their altruisms will grow and the money will not be the motivation to learn and create. But we have to start them here to motivate them to experiment and over come the fear and negativity they get from all people older than them both youth and adults.

I will be posting videos of our robots etc. this next week. Bottom line, the creation of resources is the only thing that keeps this earth functioning and leading the way to a better world. So the children need to have the opportunity to create in the real world, which we give them with out the bodily hazardous.

I know Alan is shy of the youth working and learning by producing. But this is not assembly line work. It is creation, design, engineering and fun. It has a real sense satisfaction and accomplishment.

Anyone who would like to join us is welcome.

Thanks for all the effort you all put forth everyday,

Chuck Smith
