Well, it would have been courteous for him to say so on his own. I  
don't mind saying that I feel snubbed, regardless of his intentions,  
since we've discussed such coding issues online before. He *knows*  
that I'm working on E issues in Slate.

He didn't reply on the Squeak-E list, either, and there are a lot of  
people, myself included, who want to move the project faster and  
would get more work done knowing that he doesn't intend to work on it  
as anything more than an infrequent hobby.

The last message on Squeak-E from before the question I replied to is  
over a year ago, and about E, not Squeak-E. The last Squeak-E message  
from him in my archives is from 2003; there are a few messages on the  
main squeak list from him from 2004 and 2005 but they are unrelated.  
I think I can safely say that the project should involve anyone who  
is interested now, rather than everyone (including Rob) assuming that  
Rob owns it when he clearly (but not publicly stated that) does not  
consider it a priority at all.

I do apologize for assuming so much, but it was quite alarming to see  
almost two dozen books materialize on a random bookstore's shelves  
that belong to someone you thought would like to chat over said  
subjects.
