IMO it would be better to leave unsolved bugs open so
they can collect analysis and maybe a solution.

They could be given a low priority and maybe assigned
a different owner (to get them off your list.) E.G.
they could be assigned to "cold-cases" until someone
finds time to look into them. 

There should be a distinction between between reports
that are closed because they have been solved or don't
need solving and those that need a solution but will
need time before one can be found.
