Can you compare this to the simple dependencies of Package Universes?

If Foo could depend on Bar, and you always grabbed the latest version
from within your current working set, what else do you need, in
practice?

My personal experience on Debian is that grabbing older versions of
things is almost always painful, and thus that the intricate
version-specific dependencies of Debian are more harmful than helpful.
