Election team needs your help!

Hi everyone,

While I already consider this election a success in the sense of
attracting a large list of worthy candidates, many of them outside the
pool of "usual suspects", I fear that without some help, it will be less
meaningful that the last elections in a very important way.

There are communities of Squeak users that do not subscribe to
squeak-dev at all. I think any board we choose will automatically be
weaker if the pool of voters (and candidates!) excludes all those
communities by default. One of the goals I envision for the board is to
keep our ties to those communities, but this mission has to begin before
the board is even elected, in making sure they are represented.

Last year, we had representatives from those communities helping round
out the list of voters with people active in them. The elections team is
not a member of those communities, and we will not be able to do this
without your help. Anyone willing to help with this task, please contact
me personally, or subscribe to the elections mailing list and then send
a message there. If you cannot do this yourself, but know an appropriate
representative that might, please put us in touch.
