- either it returns an Integer
- or a Character

$A asUnicodeChar.
16r100000F asCharacter asUnicodeChar.

Method comment says this method should be replaced...
It has a unique sender CompoundTextConverter>>nextFromStream:

Anyone having background knowledge to perform this clean-up ?
