however I have had Morphs embedded in a Text working for years (in a 3.8 
image), so I think I don't need these changes. I remember having fixed 
something for the case you describe (Morph as a first Character) but I 
don't remember what it is. removing TextAnchor>>#compositionScanner: 
(which is not present in 3.8) made it work for newer images too.

all my changes are visible in muO (author 'spfa'). by the way, I tried 
to load both Maui and muO in a same fresh 3.9 image and I did not 
succeed. too bad...
