Subject: [squeak-dev] Another Nomination for the Squeak Foundation

Hello All,

I would like to nominate another person for the Squeak Foundation Board.
This person is a founding member of our community and the principal
architect of five generations of Smalltalk environments. He is the inventor
of BitBlt as well as the designer of the first byte-coded VM in 1976. He
also worked with John Maloney to create Morphic. We are very fortunate to
have been able to encourage him to run for the board.

It is with great pleasure that I nominate Dan Ingalls for the Squeak
Foundation Board.

Dan is and has always been an active member of our community. You can see
him jumping in on conversations, posting about his work and contributing to
this community. Dan is currently working at Sun building a Squeak-Like
Morphic implementation that runs on a VM but that uses only JavaScript on
the client browser. This is very exciting and a Lively Kernel for future
development.

Dan is also aware of the challenges facing our community in terms of
organization, licensing and development direction. He is willing to help us
as much as he can because as he says, "I feel a strong commitment to
Squeak".

Please welcome Dan Ingalls to the Squeak Foundation 2008 Election.

Thank you,

Ron Teitelbaum
Squeak Community Member
