Dear Squeakers,

Just to let you know that MIT has pre-released the Squeak source code of
Scratch.

Check out John Maloney's announcement in the official Scratch forum:
http://scratch.mit.edu/forums/viewtopic.php?id=2745

The release mainly consists of a slightly modified developer's image and a
changes file all based on a trimmed down and streamlined 2.8 (!) version of
Squeak. Another interesting feature this dev-image contains is a built-in
one-click deployment script to be found in a special developer's menu. In
any way it's great fun to play with, and a source of inspiration to me, on
how to create a great Smalltalk application out of a rather small base
image.

To fully use the non-Scratch parts of this dev image you should also get an
old v2 sources file.
