on Hylands (www.huv.com; Jon at huv.com) had done some work on mobile devices 
for HUV applications.

I am personally interested in a rugged and economic ($1,000 - 1,500) mobile 
platform where Squeak can:
      o Acquire data from the built-in GPS receiver, and
      o Read data from a serial port (via Bluetooth)

A bright screen (for daylight use) is a plus.
