Weekly Squeak is different beast that an Announcement mailing list is.
On Announcements everyone can post and moderator just confirm the post,
just in case.  Weekly Squeak on the other hand is our PR vehicle, with a
guy who writes articles about events of his choice. The authors are
therefore different and with different goals.

I'd rather propose to add few announcements automatically on the right
part of pages on our website, just down the Weekly Squeak box. That way
the incentive for Squeakers making announcements will be enhanced due
their higher visibility.
