Thanks for the help.

Diagnostics: *sources file corrupt
Cause: Downloaded via firefox
            Firefox automatically decompresses the gz file & displays
the corresponding text.
            But... saving will include wrongly uncompressed chars.

Solution: wget .../SqueakV39.sources.gz & gunzip & then cp
/usr/local/lib/squeak/...
