I like, and am now using, the 4.5 one, and it's v small.  Could we not
include at least some of these as menu-selectable options in the base
image?  I *hate* the grey.  I find it depressing.  Being able to simply and
reliably tailor the environment to some extent out-of-the-box and not
maintain one's own pet project for customisation seems a reasonable goal.
I get that Potsdam have asked their students what their preferences are,
but they are not representative of the entire community, and providing some
flexibility seems inexpensive and constructive.
