Updated VMs are available for OpenIndiana and Oracle Solaris 11.3/11.4.

The Squeak VM on OpenIndiana was updated to version 4.20.3.

This can open V3 images in Smalltalk 6505 image format.

The OpenSmalltalk cog-spur VM is now at version "5.0.3280".

There is also a stack-spur VM for OpenIndiana, also upgraded to "5.0.3280".

These VM's can open 32bit and 64bit images in so-called 7033 and 68533 format.

The binaries for those VM's are now in the OpenIndiana repository,
and can be installed on the OS using:

   pkg update -f       # full update of OpenIndiana
   pkg install squeak  # install of Squeak

Once installed, use the 'inisqueak' command.

I've also tested the squeak VM with 

  http://files.squeak.org/various_images/SqueakV3Images/

and this image opens in the squeak classical VM on Intel/AMD.

The Cuis VectorEnginePlugin is also in the package but must be installed,
as 
 
   pkg install squeak-vep
