Woohoo, that's great news! 🎉 Thank you for maintaining this important tool, Jakob, for the comprehensive release notes, and for your patience in all my non-reproducible bug reports ... :-)

Best,

Christoph

Betreff: [squeak-dev] New version of Squot / Git Browser released

Dear Squeakers using Git,

I have just released a new version of Squot, maybe more commonly known as the "Git support and browser" from the end of the first startup wizard, or as the "Git Browser" from the Tools menu.

One highlight is that the saving of new commits in projects with larger FileTree/Cypress packages is now much faster because it does not rewrite all the files anymore, but rather only writes those that actually require changes.

While Tonel repositories do not benefit from that particular improvement yet (but they have much less files anyway), it is now possible to preserve method timestamps in Tonel repositories. Note that if you make contributions to Pharo projects from Squeak, you should not turn this feature on there unless you want to annoy somebody.

Also the tools now use the new layout hints that Marcel has implemented along with the scaling features. So the tools now look well with a scale factor other than 100%.

Please find the full release notes here: https://github.com/hpi-swa/Squot/releases/tag/v0.10.0

If you already have the Git Browser installed in a previous version, you can use the self-update action from its window menu.

If you encounter any problems, please let me know by creating an issue on GitHub: https://github.com/hpi-swa/Squot/issues

Kind regards,
Jakob
