[UI] Native vs. portable widgets: Eclipse SWT

I found this FAQ entry for Eclipse very interesting:

It discusses the merits of both native and portable widgets, and
why eclipse chose the native SWT rather than the portable Swing.

This may be obvious flamebait, but it could also be interesting.
