Hi,

here's what I did: ...

According the

*http://www.squeakvm.org/win32/compiling.html*<http://www.squeakvm.org/win32/compiling.html>

and the

*http://www.squeakvm.org/win32/custom.html*<http://www.squeakvm.org/win32/custom.html>...

The build practice is: copy the build(or)win32 directory from inside the
platform directory to parallel with platform directory and make the build
in your new just copied build directory.

1. Did the additional build directory ...

copy into folder = C:\squeak\Squeak4.10.2-2612\mycompile

original content from below folder
=C:\squeak\Squeak4.10.2-2612\platforms\win32

... with sources from "Squeak4.10.2-2612.win32-src.zip"

    *http://www.squeakvm.org/win32/release/Squeak4.10.2-2612.win32-src.zip*<http://www.squeakvm.org/win32/release/Squeak4.10.2-2612.win32-src.zip>

2. Edited the file "Makefile" in directory
C:\squeak\Squeak4.10.2-2612\mycompile\build the line 9 to be as:

PLATDIR =C:/squeak/Squeak4.10.2-2612/platforms

3. Opened the MSYS prompt MINGW32 and made cd to directory:

JaloAhonen at NT  ~

$ cd C:/squeak/Squeak4.10.2-2612/mycompile/build

4. All good, so now with growing exitement doing...

JaloAhonen at NT /c/squeak/Squeak4.10.2-2612/mycompile/build

$ configure

The directory './build/src' does not exist.

Please reconfigure with the option: SRC=<dir>

5. Oh ? Well no worries then just doing...
JaloAhonen at NT  /c/squeak/Squeak4.10.2-2612/mycompile/build

$ configure SRC=C:/squeak/Squeak4.10.2-2612/mycompile/build/src

PLATDIR= /c/squeak/Squeak4.10.2-2612/mycompile/build

MINGW= /c/MinGW

DX7SDK= /c/dx7sdk

SRC= /c/squeak/Squeak4.10.2-2612/mycompile/build/src

VM_VERSION= 4.10.2-2612

RC_VERSION= 4,10,2,2612

Configuring: build directory

Configuring: Makefile*

./configure: line 125: ./build/Makefile*.in: No such file or directory

6. Ouch... I did not succeed in my goal to: compile a test compile directly
from source code and only after that then making a new compile with my own
icons and my own splash screen/image...

 ==> Conclusion: I will appreciate any additional magic from persons in
list *vm-dev at lists.squeakfoundation.org*

...which would make it possible for me to compile a squeak-build in my
enviroment:
