Hi dear Tim, board and elections team.
Repeating the election process is certainly possible, we always intended to do so when the time comes to replace the board. However it is not obvious to me that running an election whenever someone decides to quit is a good idea - these things have overhead on the people running it, and on the community in general. We need a policy for this, and I personally tend towards "reelect the whole board when the time comes, or some low threshold is passed (say, after 4 quits), whichever is first".
What do you think?
BTW, another relevant question of policy - when does the current board expire? I seem to recall something about a year, but I haven't yet found this documented anywhere. I think the board should decide these things and publish them.

Hey Tim. Daniel Vainsencher is the best person to ask about running another election; he's taken my place on the election team.

Hi Brent as Stephane has resigned from the board, we'd like to hold an election for his replacement. Since you and the elections team did such a good job for us last time we are hoping that you can repeat the process. Would you feel able to manage this?

I tend to agree. It's not that the board is unable to perform now that one member has left. Holding an election is a lot of work, not the mechanics per se, but getting everyone to vote etcetera :-)
An alternative: ask the first runner-up of the previous elections to join.

It's probably "documented" in some mailing list archive, but the idea was to hold elections every year around the same time, which would be February...
