Hi,
You announced the following project on your website for google summer of
code this year.
I want to know more details about it and about Safara's project so I
can continue on this project or make further suggestions.
Extensible Code Editor <http://wiki.squeak.org/squeak/6125>*Mentor:* Lukas
Renggli
*Level:* Intermediate
Smalltalk lacks an extensible editor component, that can not only be used to
program in Smalltalk but also be extended to facilitate domain specific
languages (DSLs). The goal of this project is to implement the model and
view of a powerful editor component that is highly configurable and
customizable. Possible features include, but are not limited to:
configurable keyboard bindings, unlimited undo/redo, copy and past with
multiple clipboards, multiple editing areas, bookmarks in text, folding of
text, multiple selections, rectangular selections, syntax highlighting,
completion mechanism, template mechanism, collaborative editing, etc.
Follow up of Safara last year project
It is time for us to apply for Google Summer of Code 2009 (Mar 9-13th). In
order to be successful we need to show that we have lots of mentors and
projects. Please visit
http://wiki.squeak.org/squeak/6118
and put your name as mentor and post your projects. Also join the SoC
mailing list. GSOC has been very good to the Squeak community in the past
two years.
Thanks,
Aik-Siong Koh
