[ENH][Refactor] PLMCleanUpStart

"Change Set: PLMCleanUpStart Date: 9 August 2003 Author: Daniel Vainsencher This changeset adds comments for all PLM subclasses. Also removes the assumption of uniform height in PluggableListMorph (not yet in subclasses), and refactors the morph generation. Might slow list update down a bit. Factors out the StringMorph creation and initialization logic to simplify the methods and reduce duplication. The goal is to introduce the ability to accept items other than String/Text/MethodReference, and display them as morphs other than StringMorphs. Patches/advice about how to handle PLM variants welcome."!

[BUG] StringMorph

If I open the context menu for any StringMorph and choose option `change emphasis' ==> Afterwards if I choose option `plain' I obtain error message "MessageNotUnderstood: plain" The same applies for all its subclasses (such as ClockMorph) I tried to figure out the problem and the enclosed change-set is a quick hack solving the problem. [Bug] TextMorph 'text color...' interface 'cancel' button doesn't work

Tested in both 5156 and 5169 updated images. In both cases grab a TextMorph, choose 'text color...' from the halo menu, play around with the text changing whatever you like and then choose 'cancel'. The result varies from 5156 to 5169. In 5156 the text is neither unchanged nor changed to exactly what you changed in the interface. In 5169 all changes are applied and 'cancel' is equivalent to 'accept'. Ken Causey

Anthony, Try compiling the following method in any class: foo 1 = 1 ifTrue: [2] I get the error 'positive if jumps only'. Now, don't ask *why* someone would write such a method (anything you do to make it useful gets rid of the error) but this is a minimal example of an actual method in Comanche that has the same problem, so I thought I'd point it out. accelerated OpenGL on linux/nvidia (crash)

Hi, I am experiencing crashes with Ballon3D. When I enable hardware acceleration, sooner or later squeak crashes. I found some comments on swiki (http://minnow.cc.gatech.edu/squeak/2904) about using older NVidia drivers, but this semi-solution doesn't work for me as my card is not supported by old driver. The behavior explained there seems to be similar to my case. I tried various VM and image versions, including 3.4 packaged by rpm available on http://www-sor.inria.fr/~piumarta/squeak/ without success. It still crashes. Other OpenGL applications run without problem so it seems to be squeak bug/problem so far. Any idea what could be wrong and/or how to fix it? How to start Squeak under WinXP from image on network?

I just installed the downloadable version of Squeak 3.5 on a Windows XP machine. I can start Squeak on local images (i.e. on the C: drive). that is, this works from a cmd prompt: cd /d c:\squeak squeak.exe squeak.image I tried to open an image several ways, but am not able to start up images on network shares. For instance, this doesn't work: c:\squeak\squeak.exe \\ned\homes\Squeak\3.6\squeak.image even though I can in fact see the image file in the explorer. Squeak complains that it can't find the file. Why doesn't this work? If I map a drive it works, though very very slowly: map h: \\ned\homes c:\squeak\squeak.exe h:\Squeak\3.6\squeak.image But I was trying to avoid mapped drives, since they seem to be just "tacked on" to NT (i.e. they have to go through a translation to become native resource names, etc.) and they're something else that can break. -- Ned Konz http://bike-nomad.com GPG key ID: BEEA7EFE

[BUG] TextPropertiesMorph - overflow

If you have a text that's substantially large, opening a TextPropertiesMorph to add color becomes impossible. The window opens as large as your full text - is there an alternative? I believe it needs a scrollbar! Can I make this fix and turn it in? also - GeeMail gets blown away when you open TextPropertiesMorph... but I'm not sure where its best to begin with this, (it could call for a rethinking of TextPropertiesMorph - make edits to the existing TextMorph instead of a tmp copy? - evidently this problem with GeeMail occurs btwn the transition from 'TextPlusMorph', to tmp TextMorph, and back to TextPlusMorph). If no one has an opinion on this then I'll go ahead and do these changes! (or please inform me otherwise) - adios, Webb McDonald 1324481.14 662809.63

I file this in to every new image to get more accurate project loading progress bars, and it still works for me. So I thought I'd repost. from preamble: "Change Set: SlightProgress-sm Date: 3 Nov 2001 Author: Simon Michael Make project loading progress indicators slightly more accurate by storing timing data separately for local & remote downloads. After loading a few projects you should notice less flickering, especially when downloading large projects over a slow link. Also fixes the spelling of the TranslucentProgressMorph class."!
