What else is different in the new site? (was: Website change, Squeek by Example Game?)

You know, I just noticed that the new site does not have "What's New" section. What else did the old site have that new site doesn't? It's hard to tell, because, unfortunately after having a digital presence on the web for over a decade, someone arbitrarily took the site down without warning or discussion. Now, the new site is running from the same persons personal directory on box3, and he has excluded even READ permission to the directory for all but himself. I was pretty much over my soreness about this until I just now saw Abuzar couldn't finish the tutorial. Chris C., thanks again for taking the website ball and running with it. Could you please loosen your grip a bit and help us _transition_ to your new site more gradually by putting the old site back up and running on box2? For professionalism, not sentimentality. See if you can generate a positive feedback loop in the community toward our web-presence, with you as the conduit for instrumenting the changes (and/or a way to delegate to others who can have access to do it). If receiver was of the form 2^2n*u we did answer 2^n *E(sqrt(u)) But sqrt(u) = E(sqrt(u)) + residue where 0<=residue<1 And result is rather E(2^n*sqrt(u)) = E( 2^n*(E(sqrt(u)) + residue)) = 2^n*E(sqrt(u)) + E(2^n*residue) As 2^n * residue can be big (superior to 1), we miss the correct value by default. If we want to correct this, an approximation of residue is (u-E(sqrt(u))^2) / 2 E(sqrt(u)) This is more or less like super Newton-Raphson inner loop... Switch full screen ON to OFF

Hi all, This post comes from an old thread named as "Scratch 1.4 on squeak-vm 4.10". I renamed this topic to be more clear regarding what the problem is. After followed suggestions by the list on the previous thread, I realize that the problem isn't on Scratch, instead could be on the squeak-vm. I did a test, using squeak-vm 4.10 with Squeak3.9a.from3.0.image, when go to full-screen ON and then switch to OFF, the Squeak is hangs and the windows turned white. To figure out whats is happening, at this point, i have (i think so) two options to following researching: 1) Execute the fullscreen ON-OFF from Workspace. I found that full-screen ON-OFF is performed by ScreenController class and fullScreenOff and fullScreenOn methods. How I should call this class from Workspace ? I tried something like: ScreenController initialize fullScreenOn And an exception was arised. 2) This option could be hardest, i guess. Download squeak-vm source, add debug code on sqUnix11.c and debug it. I would like to start from option 1, that seems like effortless. Some another suggestion ? Thanks in advance. Gustavo.

Squeak on Raspbian which VM?

Hi, I found that Raspbian comes with a Squeak vm. Stuck a 3.8 and a brand new 4.5 image into the folder and both work. Is this the right VM to use or is there a newer one? Thanks Herbert
