Is #initialize a class method or an instance method?
If it is a class method usually the person puts something like: ------cut here---- initialize "MotherDuck initialize" "rest of the code goes here" ----cut here----
If it is an instance method one of the superclasses class methods #new would look like the following:
"This method creates a new instance of the receiver." ^super new initialize.
which would then call your instance method.

Please disregard my previous questions regarding the first example (page 16) in Wilf LaLonde's book. I have solved most of them except one:
- the MotherDuck class has a method called "initialize". However, at no
point in the code is that method called. Why? Does the MotherDuck class have an ancestor that calls "initialize" when "new" is used?
Does anyone know Wilf LaLonde e-mail address?
Many thanks.

Does anyone know where I can get hold of a copy of Smalltalk V for the Mac? Is it still being made?
Does anyone know where I can get hold of a copy of Smalltalk V for the Mac? Is it still being made?
Last time I talked to anyone about it PDD was still selling it but not supporting it at all. Why do you want it? I _might_ be able to dig up my disc for it...

I just recently asked Objectshare about it. They do not have it in any form (to the point where they can't even find the code anymore...!) and I was told that if I wanted a copy I should find someone who has it to make me a copy. I was interested in it to help me to port some old ST/V code to Squeak; as a relative newby, I need all the help I can get!
If someone does have a copy they can share, I would appreciate it.
Thanks,
William
