question: i'm running squeak 2.3 on NT. i wanted to pull up couple of change sets in the Package Browser. this worked fine for the change set that hadn't had its crs mutated to crlfs, but really didn't work for the other change set that had crlfs. filing in CrLfFileStream didn't help, although i don't know that i have the latest version of the CrLfFileStream change set. anyone got any pointers?
You also have to change FileStream class>>#concreteStream to return CrLfFileStream (as the comment there suggests).
question: why doesn't restore display work when i am in a morphic project? if i resize the window and then select restore display in the mvc world, it works fine, but not in morphic.
It's a bug (the World's viewbox isn't updated). A fix was sent a few days ago (see http://squeak.cs.uiuc.edu/mail/squeak/msg06162.html)
thoughts: i'm certain i've seen both of these questions discussed if not answered on the squeak list. the problem is that so much info flows through the list that it takes quite a bit of time to find even messages that i've posted, much less information that i only vaguely recall seeing. obviously, this is where the swiki pages would be ideal--they are the perfect place for information to accumulate. unfortunately (and this is just my impression, i could be off here) it seems to me that the swiki pages aren't really living up to their potential. i think the problem is very much a social one; the technology is there, but it really hasn't been integrated into our community. is anyone else feeling the same way? any ideas or thoughts on how we might change this?
We might set up a special mailing list archive that collects the properly marked fixes (with a [FIX] in subject) ...
