Curiously enough, that is available in squeak. Use the shifted yellow button menu in a browser text pane, choose pretty print and keep the left shift down til the code changes. I don't know if that's exactly what was used in the picture, but it's certainly similar.
I think he might be referring to the syntax coloring.
I think so, too. That's why I mentioned keeping the left shift key down.

Oops! That's what I get for not trying it myself.
I didn't realize that the base image already had syntax coloring! I'd seen the file-ins on the Goodies page for syntax coloring, but I'd never heard about it being added to the base image.
Although it looks like Helge's coloring goodie is a bit more elaborate, adding some bold emphasis for some things. (Plus the green color for temp vars in the base image coloring is awfully bright.)
Still, good to know that it's there.

I think this thread is very interesting...it seems a lot of people have learned (just by looking at pictures) about a lot of things that Squeak can do that they weren't previously aware of.
Good stuff...

I just added a "Tips and Tricks" page to the Swiki:
http://minnow.cc.gatech.edu/squeak.690
Let the rest of us know what you've discovered.
(Hmmm, geez -- does this mean the Squeak Swiki is closing in on 700 pages?)

Shouldn't be a problem -- my class Swiki (http://pbl.cc.gatech.edu/cs2390/1.html) just passed 1500 pages this last term.

FWIW, in the 2.4c image/VM I just sucked over, browsers are lime green and local variables are Kelly green. Really, really hard to read.

Look at SyntaxHighlightingTextAttribute class>>makeAllAttributes, you can fully customize your color scheme.

Well, duh. It's taken me this long to realize that if I do a shift+right-click in windows/panes with menus that cascade to "more..." submenus, I can get the submenu directly. And you can hold either shift key down to get the syntax coloring in a browser text pane -- just hold down a shift key, right-click to get the menu, select "pretty print", then let go of the shift key.
