i want to decide on an image to use, and i don't know which ones are recomended, should i use squeak-dev, or some other one? whick one is your personal favorite?

I'm using 3.9-final + LevelPlayingField now. See http://installer.pbwiki.com/LevelPlayingField.
Unfortunately, LPF doesn't install Universes, so I have to add that separately.
I use Seaside One Click Experience because I'm doing Seaside and it has a sensible folder layout* with 3 VMs all pointed to the same image. Makes it easy to move between Windows, Mac, and Linux. See: http://www.seaside.st/download/squeak#167943699
