If you start a drag on an open part of the desktop or other PasteUpMorph with the shift held down, you'll get a SelectionMorph. You can then delete or otherwise manipulate this with the halo.

Ah, you didn't say.
Look at the various message sets like the "recently logged changes browser". These are all multi-select.
