I have read the "rant" and "unrant" subject with a mix of uneasiness (embarrassment) and fear. The "Rant" thread began on the 15th of december 2004, and produced a lot of discussion. I will not summarize the thread, because a lot of people read it. Instead, I will go forward and try to find a pragmatic and constructive of helping the community (and yes, I am also very bold and handosome :) << ironic comment). _________________________________________________________________

Terminus, the little system I cobbled up to export Squeak People's account and web-of-trust information, is up and running. The first app is a [1]Wiki which uses Terminus to decide whether certain actions are possible. _________________________________________________________________

I'd like to announce Unstable Squeak: an experimental fast-moving, community-based developer-oriented distribution of Squeak. Unstable Squeak leverages Squeak Source, Squeak People, and Monticello to try to present an alternative model for incoporating fixes and enhancements from the community with a minimum of process. _________________________________________________________________

I might be alone here, or not, but often I find the "let's take over the desktop" approach of Squeak a bit too intrusive. There might be a solution that's simpler than interfacing Squeak with every GUI toolkit out there on the planet...

I do not find the option to remove my name from the registry. What is the procedure I must follow to terminate my inclusion in "Squeak People" ? thanks in advance, Ale.

Hello,
I'm not Alejandro so I don't know if he's changed his mind or not, but how did this request go?

I get lots of requests for things on SqP that SqP cannot do. Instead of manually processing them, they're put on the todo list of functions to add. One of the things I want to do with SqP is to run a Squeak image in parallel with it and slowly add extra functions and move existing functions into it.
So I have responded negatively, with the above explanation, to his request (not that deletion is always a tricky thing - with references to the object, etcetera. Not something I want to do manually in any case).
Cees,
I don't know the other requests, and don't know about Alejandro's current thought. But manually removing one person who sounded really don't want to expose himself on it would be a nice gesture as a caring leader.
Just my two cents,
