Hi all
The squeak foundation is moving... We obtained the right from tim to use the logo to do some merchandising.
As we cannot have twice the same item with different logoes I created two shops http://www.cafepress.com/SqFoundation http://www.cafepress.com/SqueakShop We are testing them. So refrain to buy now :) All the benefits will go to the squeakfoundation and everything will be transparent.
We should receive some items soon to really test their size.
We plan to have Tshirt and Mugs and to use the balloon of bert who gave us also the right to use it. Let us know if you have some preferences for the items.
Stef
isn't it an idea to invest the few dollars it costs to have a premium shop? Among others, we can then 'professionalise' it by setting it up in our own L&F, etcetera...

I checked all the web design that they offered and this was not exciting. I'm not against having a "pro" site but for now let us try simply and if people like it then we can go a step further. But just producing the pictures of the right size/ quality takes time. So if in addition I have to design a website L&F, this will take me too much energy. I'm little chicken oriented.

Squeak logo T-shirt would be great. Karl
Ok I add that to the list as the next item to do.
Have you checked what they have exactly because there is pocket size or large logo on the back....

I would like something like this: http://www.cafepress.com/shop/humor/browse/store/playwell.21937170 Large logo on front, regular t shirt. Karl

Ok I was wondering if we should add a line such as "The best way to predict the future is to invent it"

Not if you want me to buy one :-) Just the logo, please. Large, like Karl said.
Just my opinion, Josh

Q: Where should we point people with questions about the merchandise ? Karl

I think that we should state clearly that all the benefits will go to squeakFoundation. After I suggest that they send question to the mailing-list or the forcoming squeakf-board list

I prefer a nicer shirt with a small logo. So I was wondering: it's nice to have a variety of items to sell, but what item generates the most bang for the buck? For instance, would it make more money selling one nice polo shirt than 1000 buttons? -- or whatever it would be for the equivalent customer price.

I thought about that too. :) So I will propose the two kinds. The problem is that we should try them because I would be really disappointed that someone buy one and get a crappy item.

I do not know. Basically each item has a ground price and after we define what we want to gain for each item. But the goal is not to make really money but to let squeakers having fun and still giving money indirectly to squeakF. So the tension is to be reasonable. So I guess that we will have to try a bit at the beginning.

At SqueakShop, seems the 5$ single button was mislabeled "10 pack".
Cool, always wanted to have one of those...
Where's the new logo from? what are the 3 halo-like thingies? pretty nice

I did it :) with some logoes fan here. I fact I did a lot of tries..... And I wanted to represent synergy between the forks :) and the fact that squeakfoundation is here to help promoting squeak. I also changed the feel of squeak in general (warn positif colors).
