It sure is quiet. I'm actually in New Zealand at the moment, making me an unusual UK Smalltalk member I suppose, but I've had some time recently to hack on Squeak for fun. First time in ages.
I've produced an implementation of the Git repository format, letting Squeak read and write blobs, trees and commits natively. Quite satisfying, a bit of low-level programming now and then :-) Not quite sure in which direction I'll take it now... I'm looking forward to examining Stephen Pair's Trax project, which he mentioned on squeak-dev the other day and which seems closely related.
So what fun things are occupying the spare moments of the others on the list?

Happy New Year everyone. I've recently returned to the UK and I've also recently learnt Smalltalk so I can develop Seaside web apps. I'd love to meet up with others in the UK Smalltalk community. I'm based in London. Any plans for a sociable get-together in the near future? After all can anyone one think of anything better than some enjoyable Smalltalk talk on a wintery January evening?
Look forward to hearing from you all,
Nick
