I noticed that squeak.org was down for several days.
I'd be more than happy to donate the small cost of monitoring the site so that if it isnt responding, the parties needed to get it restarted are notified.
If you are interested in taking me up on the offer, send whatever email address or cell phone number ( via sms ) you would want alerted.

Thank you for your offer. We actually have such monitoring in place but it doesn't help much if server far away from you go down. So we need to think more in direction of setting up redundancy or something. I'm sure we will soon start discussion about that, just that box team guys come back from OOPSLA.
But thanks again, we welcome people with initiatives! Janko

Well, if it comes up that you need monitoring or other services, let me know. Going to start using squeak in a good bit of our money making so, more than happy to give back in terms of resources as long as I am in a position to do so.
Thank you. Donations are appreciated as of course we do have to pay for the server hosting and as services increase I expect we are going to have to expand and so costs will also expand. You can donate and get a Squeak badge by going to
http://old.squeak.org/Foundation/SupportSqueak/
This is also somewhere on the new site but just at the moment it is not responding.
Thanks,
Ken

Webteam mailing list Webteam@lists.squeakfoundation.org http://lists.squeakfoundation.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/webteam
http://www.squeak.org/Foundation/SupportSqueak/
on the new website, which is now responding.
Why is it that in the menu the Merchandise page is much more obvious than the Support page? Perhaps these should be combined?

Yes. The donation link must be more obvious. Change the Merchandise to Donate or Support and combine the two.

At the end we can combine all this on Sponsors page?

I really thought I had responded to this. Man, so very bad that I didn't. The team and machines I'm in charge of aren't huge but Squeak and Seaside are going to be very important to us soon so if there are non human resources you are in need of, be it some hosting, some monitoring or whatever, please approach me and hopefully it would be something I can accommodate. Obviously I have to answer to others, but where possible, I will supply whatever I can.
