Re the "blueprint canvas" item in the "display" category of the World's viewer:  this is a "dealers of lightning" thing that Alan likes to slip in to his demos sometimes.   Note that it is not available in the normal "etoy friendly" mode.  Note also that if you somehow get into the blueprint-canvas mode without having carefully planned a way back out, it's good to know that issuing alt-r ("restore display") will restore the default canvas...
