But note that the additional bug you mention was already present (and has always been present, since bearingTo and distanceTo arrived) and is unrelated to -- and not a consequence of -- the fix published for the current ticket.

So to minimize comfusion, it would probably be most appropriate to open a new JIRA ticket for the new issue, and re-close the current ticket.
