Why not, is there a disadvantage of not adding it? Do you see cases where  
adding a default canonical tag would
be wrong? People will still have to implement #updateUrl: and  
#initialRequest: if they want to make pages being
properly indexed, otherwise the canonical URL will just point to the entry  
point.

Maybe in the future browser will also pick up that tag and use it to  
cleanly bookmark sites and copy URLs?
