Ok, I've tested the reply button and in fact it goes only to you
personally and also to you and the squeak ML if I use the ReplyAll
button (netscape messenger).
I didn't know this possibility before, because in
Edit->Preferences->Mail/Newsgroups->Identity there is the comment, that
the ReplyTo address field only has to be filled if this address isn't
the same as the eMail address (which is shown in from: field), but
normally both are the same...
So I have learned something new!

As a conclusion I assume that all people have the correct from address,
but not so many a correct 'replyTo' one, because this setting
contradicts the comment of my (and probably others) eMail-program.

I think its not just a religious war. Setting the replyTo address - in
opposite of the comment of my eMail program - to manipulate the
behaviour of this ML - to work as it should - seems to be a workaround
for a ***not 'standard' setting***!

I prefer an intuitive correct standard setting.

IMHO consequences of changing the behaviour are not so bad in the worst
case:

If 'replyTo' would answer - after changing the ML behaviour - the
'from's, some people would acknowledge that a 'replyTo' instead a
'replyToAll' won't arise in the ML and begin to think a little bit...
To minimize frustration this changing of behaviour could be done with a
mail to notify all members of this ML and with a short note which would
be send if someone subscribes new.

Greetings,

Stephan
