I'm with you on this. Regardless of how well we succeed with breaking the image down into modules, I believe we will always want to have both a decomposed and a full-blown image as options for the release. Folks with big machines who don't care about packages will choose Squeak as it has been for years. Folks who are doing a headless server or mini PDA app will want the fully factored version, and someone who wants to rework the file system in collaboration with 2 other people in other countries will want this plus a link to some CVS-style database.
But as long as I'm around, we'll have an all-in-one option as part of our release process.
