For people paying taxes in Germany, we are entitelt to issue 
donation-reciptes.

All money will be used according to our bylaws (the wiki has a 
translation).

This is even checked by the Tax-Office. We are actually forced to spend 
all the
money "in a reasoble time" for our stated goals.

This is done in PHP-Website, but I will be looking into alternatives 
later (SmallWiki or Goran's HomePageBuilder).
Maybe we could even work on this together with the international 
community: squeak.org really need some
redesign.

I don't think this works internationally... maybe there is something 
european? But I have not
seen anything. The idea should be that people set up such an 
organisation in every country,
so we can take tax-deductable donations everywhere...

Setting this up in germany was really simple (minus the "first-time" 
problems"). But this maybe
a german specialty. There are *lots* of those "Verein" type 
organisations here, a common joke
says that "everytime three germans meet, they make a Verein".
